Exam project - 'Combinations and Alliances'
Welcome to my Photography E-Portfolio, where I am documenting my development on my A-Level Photography course at Fortismere school. The exam title we have been given is 'Combinations and Allliances'. I shall portray this theme through the medium of photography. Below is a mind-map I created in order to generate some ideas for the project. By doing this I created new ideas and strands that I wish to explore.
After creating the mind-map I gathered images which related to the ideas above. For example a combination of, different textures, colours, people and scenarios. There are also images which relate to the idea of an 'alliance', such as a beating heart and the human body or an alliance between the photographer and their camera or their personal feelings towards the subject that is is being photographed.
Below is the practical brief we were given in relation to photography. All of the features on this page have allowed me to expand my ideas.
The idea of a political 'alliance' is captured below as this sculpture of Churchill and Roosevelt commemorates the alliance between Britain and America in the Second World War. The sculpture is on Bond Street and is titled 'Allies'.
